My name is David Ross. I was born in Tennessee on October 24th at the end of the 1950s. I am a proud son of a minister and a working mom. Growing up, we lived in five different states and I came away meeting many wonderful people and many unique experiences. While attending The University of North Alabama, I earned degrees in both Broadcasting and Journalism. After settling in middle Tennessee, I eventually met and married my wife Paula, we have one son in college and one son who just recently graduated.
While going to college, I worked as a deckhand on a towboat. In between television jobs I have worked various freelance video productions and electrical work, among other things. I understand living by the sweat of my brow. However, I have spent a majority of my adult life working in broadcasting and have been blessed with a good career. I have worked for The Nashville Network, CMT, Qwest Digital, WSMV Channel 4 and now Viacom.
Most of my life I have been a Libertarian and have voted that way for many years.I’ve been unhappy with the direction of our country is headed. And, I honestly feel that the only way to change the way things are is to put new faces in Washington, that’s why I decided to run.
